training and racing @ Catpoint
Jorden & Frank

What do we do when there are no class events or other important races? We go back to the club where we started sailing, Catpoint. Definitely the most sunny place in Holland (even in this year’s summer). It’s nice to come back here and enjoy the beautiful lake, sail with some really fanatic people and have a nice beer afterwards.

The last two weekends we’ve done some training sessions on Saturday, and competed in the club races on Sunday. It’s a nice level of racing with all types of boats; some F18’s an F20, a tornado and F16’s. We actually compete against our daddy’s who are sailing together on a Nacra F20 Carbon. Last week we did a 2 hours long distance and we managed to win this race.

This week we did 3 upwind downwind courses in the most beautiful sailing conditions, clear blue sky and 15 knots of breeze. There are some good club sailors with a lot of local knowledge, so we had to push the boat hard to win the races.

Upcoming Saturday we have to put our boat in the container, so they can ship her to California where the worlds will be sailed in September. We’ve done a lot of training this year and already sailed some really good results. We feel confident in the boat and we know how to sail the boat fast in all type of conditions. We still have a lot of fun together and at the same time we improve our skills week after week!

Next event: Nacra Europeans where we compete in a Nacra F20 Carbon! Stay tuned..

Eurocoupe Bray Dunes
After a very cold winter in the Netherlands the first event abroad was the Eurocoupe in Bray Dunes (FRA). We were very excited as we had not been sailing the F18 so much this winter due to the cold weather.

Training South Africa
Jorden & Frank
How it’s done, by team Boskalis After the trip to Tanzania to do the Tanzacat regatta, the African sailors noticed that the level of sailing in the Netherlands is quite high. Gunnar and Frank made a video of one of their races during the Tanzacat bay races. After watching this footage several times the South African Nacra dealer invited us to come over for a week of training. We only had to think over this for about 5 seconds, and then we said.. YES we come!
Dutch sailing season ended with a clear win!
Jorden & Frank
Dutch sailing season ended with a clear win! The last weekend of the autumn cup is sailed, and we managed to win the series with a clean sweep! Just like the Tanzacat regatta, only 1st places! We were extremely lucky as we had four weeks with great conditions. All days good wind and a nice sunshine! We can look back on this sailing season with a smile. It was a very successful year for us with great regatta’s, a big learning curve and some really good results.
Autumn Cup
Jorden & Frank
After sailing the Tanzacat regatta Jorden and Frank teamed up again to do the autumn cup in Holland, which mostly means cold days and lots of wind. Because of our Boskalis F18 was still in the container until now we decided to do the series on the COMPASS Nacra F20 carbon. Great fun on the boat and it’s incredibly fast. After 3 weekends we are in a comfortable lead with 1 day to go.. Would be great to end this successful season with a win!

Round Tien Gemeten
On Saterday 29th of September Froukje & Mischa sailed the Round Tien Gemeten in Hellevoetsluis. The sky was blue the temperature was nice the water was flat and the wind was on!! The Round Tien Gemeten is a nice race to end the season. The start is in front of the Hellecat catamaran club from which around a 80 boats start racing towards the Island Tien Gemeten, over 20 Kilometers ahead. The island has to be rounded to port and than back to the club.
